ARKANSAS – Coming out of this legislative session, 17 new laws surrounding medical marijuana are set to go into effect in Arkansas.
Some limit advertising and smoking in places where cigarettes are banned. Another allows businesses to fire medical marijuana patients in safety-sensitive jobs. Lawmakers also imposed new taxes and made requirements for pharmacists to work at dispensaries.
Other new laws set the age for medical marijuana use at 21, preventing members of the military from becoming patients, and preventing doctors from using telemedicine to prescribe the drug.
