A cannabis industry trade association is making it easier for you to find doctors willing to sign off on medical marijuana prescriptions.
The Arkansas Cannabis Industry Association has created a new interactive map, which displays the names, phone numbers, and locations of doctors who are willing to sign a eradication form that authorizes Arkansans to buy and use medical marijuana.
Here’s how it works:
1. The site provides a blank certification form which you can print out and bring along to your doctor visit.
2. During you visit, the doctor will determine if a patient has one of eighteen conditions that qualify for medical marijuana treatment.
3. Once the form is signed, patients can submit a photo of their certification form along with their application on the Arkansas Department of Health website.
4. After paying the $50 fee, the ADH will mail you your patient identification card within 30 days of dispensaries opening.
So far, 11 doctors have signed up to be featured on the map, including 5 in Northwest Arkansas and the River Valley, though the site also cautions that your regular physician may be willing to sign your form, even if they aren’t listed.
