LITTLE ROCK (KATV) —
Police say a juvenile has been charged after the accidental shooting that injured 2 children Sunday night.
According to the police report, when officials arrived on scene, one of the children injured stated his cousin had shot him. Police say this was in reference to a third juvenile,16, who was in the backyard.
The 16-year-old told officials that he “was sick of it” and had thrown the firearm in the trash can supplied by the city which was located in the backyard.
Detectives say the 16-year-old has been charged with possession of firearms by certain persons.

According to officials, the incident occurred at 32nd and Irving.
LRPD say they do not know how the children came in contact with the gun. They believe the child who found the gun shot himself and the other child with the same bullet. One was hit in the stomach, the second was hit in the leg.
Both children were transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police tell Channel 7 the children were not residents of the house; however, they were related to those who lived there.
